Burn Permits to Burn Brush

A Burn Permit cost $20 per year.  Fee payment must be paid by check only and checks made payable to the Town of Rockland.

The "burn" season runs from January through May 1.  You must call the fire department (business line) between 10 A.M. and 1 P.M. on the day you wish to burn brush outside. The fire department will decide whether the weather conditions are conducive to burning and activate your burn permit.

The time allowed for burning brush runs from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. daily, the fire must be started in an area greater than 75 feet from a residence, a garden hose must be present and ready for use, and an adult must provide constant supervision AT the burn site.

Do NOT burn piles of leaves or EVER attempt to start a fire with an accelerant like gasoline or other flammable liquid.
