Winter Parking Ban

Winter Parking Ban
Begins December 1st at 1:30 am

The All Night Winter Parking Ban will take effect on all public streets & roads in the Town of Rockland starting on December 1st, 2017 at 1:30 am.  Residents and visitors will not be allowed to park any vehicle on any public road, within the Town of Rockland for more than one hour, between the hours of 12:30 am and 6:00 am.  Courtesy tags wil be given out during the first week of the ban as a reminder.  Beginning on Friday, December 8th, 2017 at 1:30 am, parking violators may be issued parking tags for a violation of the All Night Winter Parking Ban.  The fine is $25.

There may be times during the winter months when vehicles may be towed without prior warning due to excessive snow fall accumulation and the need for the Rockland Highway Department to clear the streets of snow.  The fine for impeding snow removal on a public way is $50; and the vehicle may be towed at the owner's expense.

The Rockland Police Department asks for the cooperation of both residents and visitors during the upcoming winter months.
